I do since quite some time and it is very nice, much better than the original version. 

But as I said https://porkrind.org/commit-patch/
comes quite close to commit -i (with curses), well it is not that fine graded as far as I can tell, but it looks pretty decent 

 hg shelve -i 

is another matter
