ubuntu 24 (and most likely debian 12) does not allow to install evolve

I finally solved my issue, by boldly using 

pip install --user mercurial --break-system-packages


That also gave me 
   mercurial 6.8
   evolve 11.1.4


As for hg-git, I need a particular topic (branch) 
(changeset 13cf16d4c84f)

and I think I start to understand how the configuration works in order
to export topics as git branches.
