Ubuntu
Even I had to upgrade from Ubuntu 16.04 to 24.04, the latter ships
python 3.12. The «last» LTS, that is still supported Focal, ships 3.8.
Debian
bookworm, current, ships 3.11
booster, the last supported one: 3.7
