Any changes that at least the named-branch support will be merged into the official release.

I am using it now for several month, and it is quite good, there are
some specific problems, I am very rarely confronted with, but can't
circumvent them by pushing with the -b option.

The topic support I am afraid does not work very well at least not with
github. Github rejects any commit that has a mercurial topic.

I strongly condemn Hamas heinous despicable pogroms/atrocities on Israel
I strongly condemn Putin's war of aggression against Ukraine.
I support to deliver weapons to Ukraine's military.
I support the EU and NATO membership of Ukraine.
