I think
 hg log --style changelog
 comes very close, however in hg 6.X it inserts also a hash

For example

2024-10-02  User1  <user1 at gmail.com>

        * new-energy-estimates.tex:
        Investigate constants, they seem to look good, but further
        investigation is needed.
        [8836c1e1b7c3] [tip]

        * ChangeLog, new-energy-estimates.tex:
        New section concerning the condtions on the constants

        * new-energy-estimates.tex
        (subsection{Summarise_conditions_constants} {} {}): New section
        [d7c73026c206]

Any possibility of not having the HASH?
